The view from the hostel at the Rescue Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded to rescue young girls from brothels in and around Mumbai, India. The Rescue Foundation houses over 50 rescued girls at a time and some of them are Devadasis from the nearby "Devadasi belt" in Northern Karnataka. Most are under the age of 18 . For their own protection, the girls are not allowed to leave the Rescue Foundation building nor are they allowed to look out of the windows.
